How To Walk Through


Fred is a musician. 
Music is his life! 

He’s got a profile on Myspace, posts videos on Youtube, sells his music on iTunes and CD Baby, and gets all the gigs he can.  But he still needs a day job.

When his friend James sent him a sponsorship offer for The League of Music, on Selfport, he thought, “Why not?  I’ve already got all these MP3s and videos.”

So he accepted the sponsorship offer, and began to upload his stuff on Selfport. 

Right away, he noticed that he could mark his songs and videos as “premium.”  He read that if his video goes viral, or all his stuff together, gets a million hits on Selfport, he’ll earn 10 or 20 thousand dollars. 

He didn’t know how likely that is.  But he sure won’t make that kind of money on Youtube or Myspace!

He also saw that he could win in his town, or his genre, in several categories, and that there are winners every month.  There are so many winners on Selfport, that it didn’t look that unlikely to Fred that he might win…maybe again and again.

Fred invited his friends and family to view and judge his music on Selfport, to help him win.  When they arrived, they decided to use the Promoter and Judge features to help Fred out. 

Fred’s friends found that Promoting and Judging was easy and fun.  They did it for free, but noticed they could also get sponsored as Promoters or Judges. 

And sponsored Promoters and Judges can win and earn money, and access lots of premium content on Selfport.

Fred’s first sponsor was a local auto repair shop, Water Star Motors.  Fred had never heard of them before.  His manager James found them for him.

He went down to Water Star Motors, to thank the owners, Henry and Lisa.  They told him that his friend Jenny had already seen them as his Selfport sponsor, and brought her car in.   This had already more than paid for Fred’s sponsorship.

And when they fixed Jenny’s car, they also sponsored her, as a Promoter.  Now Jenny was watching premium content on Selfport, which is how media makers like Fred earn money, for every view of their premium videos, art or writing, and every play of their premium songs.
