Promoters & Judges
promoter story
Jenny likes to support her musician and artist friends. She’s a good friend, and a true fan. It’s more fun to be a fan of people you know.
When her rock star friend Fred shared a link in his Facebook stream, asking his friends to vote for his song in the League of Music, on Selfport, she clicked through.
She noticed there was a console below Fred’s song, including Promote, RR, flag and share.
She tried RR, and saw this was the way to “rate and review” Fred’s song. She was prompted to sign up. Naturally. Obviously this was like Youtube.
She found sign up on Selfport very simple. It only asked for her email and a password. As soon as she responded from the confirmation email, she was able to rate and review Fred’s song.
Now she noticed that the form for rating and reviewing on Selfport had some interesting features. It was like Youtube. But there was also something called “multi-metrics.”
Jenny could rate her friend Fred, on his degree of coolness…5 stars, of course!
She could also be his official Judge, or Promoter. She clicked around the site, and discovered that subscribing or sponsored Promoters or Judges could also earn and win money and prizes.
Ah ha. So that’s what the sponsor on Fred’s song was about. She went back to Fred’s song, to see who that sponsor was.
Jenny clicked through to the sponsor’s profile, and saw it was an auto repair shop, called Water Star Motors. And they were green! What a coincidence. Jenny’s car needed work, but she never imagined there was an environmentally responsible shop to do it. And these guys had personally supported her friend Fred, too!
When she took her car in, she asked the owners about Selfport, and how they had come to sponsor Fred. They explained how James, the sponsorship manager had come to them.
After they fixed her car, Henry and Lisa offered to sponsor Jenny as an official Promoter on Selfport. Now Jenny could access lots of free content on Selfport, and win prizes, just for being a good fan.
Hey, Jenny is such a good fan, and friend, maybe she’ll become a sponsorship manager, like James!
